What is Education for Sustainable Development & Global Citizenship? ESDGC is education that seeks to develop a deeper knowledge, understanding and holistic vision of all aspects of Sustainable Development & Global Citizenship. In Wales, we use the acronym ‘ESDGC’ (Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship) in place of the more usual ‘ESD’.

Currently, there are 62 RCEs recognised around the world (4 in the UK). Swansea University is leading the Welsh application to establish RCE Wales - a Wales-wide UNU Regional Centre of Expertise in ESDGC
