Senate Each state elects two Senators That means there are 100 Senators in total They act as a check on the President and the House of Representatives If they don’t agree to a law then it can’t pass
Whitehouse President heads up the executive They set out what they want done and hand it to Congress for them to discuss and pass/amend/reject Unlike in Scotland, the President can choose his team from anyone in the USA, they don’t have to be elected
