FONDO FORMACION EUSKADI Barakaldo, 24th February 2015 Common Methodology to identify the “Good Practice Guide”

METHODOLOGY´s STEPS: STEP 1: The group will read described real case STEP 2: Role playing STEP 3: Interviews STEP 4: Focus Group STEP 5: Conclusions/Solutions

Common Methodology to identify the “Good Practice Guide” STEP 1: Reading of an example of real case of a intercultural problem at school. The teachers will be in charge of the selection of the best practice in each country  Fill in the Good Practice Sheet The group of the students from 4 countries (EL, SE, IT, ES) will read all the “good practices examples” given by the teachers.

Common Methodology to identify the “Good Practice Guide” STEP 2- ROLE-PLAYING What is a Role-playing? “Role play” is a game in which the players assume a role. This role will allow to learn how to best handle a situation by practicing interactions and trying out different approaches. Students may act out situations, problems, and issues in a safe setting and develop skills that promote interculturality. Role play is a very effective instructional method to increase self- efficacy and has an important impact on student’s behaviour.

Common Methodology to identify the “Good Practice Guide” STEP 3: INTERVIEWS FFE will provide the questionnaires to the partners in order to get a definitive one. The interviews will be made individually to each student that take part in the role playing, so that they can give their impression on how they felt.

Common Methodology to identify the “Good Practice Guide ” STEP 4: FOCUS GROUP: What is a Focus Group? It is a group of people brought together, not less than 5, to discuss in a relatively informal way a specific topic or issue. All participants have a common interest for finding a solution. A moderator, using a flexible schedule of questions promotes discussions and guides the group.

Common Methodology to identify the “Good Practice Guide ” STEP 4: FOCUS GROUP: The students will be divided into 3 different groups in order to discuss about the possible solutions to the problem. 1 person will act as a moderator  FFE will give some hints to moderator in order the students focus all the discussion on the targets we want to achieve.

Common Methodology to identify the “Good Practice Guide” STEP 5: CONCLUSIONS/SOLUTIONS Each group will write down their conclusions/solutions on a “post- it” The leader of each group will show and explain to the rest of the students the reason why they have choosen such a solution and which has been their discussion.
