Road map Shows roadways and physical boundaries. It is a good way to find your way a unfamiliar place.

Topographic map A topographic map is a 2d representation of natural and human made features on the earth’s surface. Many people that go camping find these maps useful because the contour lines can determine the elevation and steepness of mountains.

Aeronautical map A Aeronautical map is used to help navigate planes so they don’t crash into each other. Pilots also use these maps to determine a safe altitude and best routes for where their destination may be.

Weather Map Weather maps are used for research and weather forecasting and have been around since mid- 19 th century. Same maps that use isotherms can determine the wind speed and temperature gradients.

Gene map A Gene map shows the location of specific genes. There are usually two traits also know as DNA markers. These maps have been used for humans, plants, and animals, but not roses oddly enough.

Concept Map A concept map is a tool for representing knowledge and branching off from knowledge. You can use this map for tons of things and is quite simple to make.

Floor plan A floor plan is a map that represents what the interior of a house may look like. Many architectures find these maps useful because they show what they plan on making or have made and what they will do next.
