Frank Sinatra

Francis Albert Sinatra was born on 12 December 1915 in New Jersey. He is an actor and a singer. He is famous for the romantic style of songs and the "velvet" voice.

Youth From childhood he was interested in music. Sinatra had small performances on radio. Ever since he saw his idol Bing Crosby at a concert in 1933, he chose the career of the singer. He also worked as a sports journalist for a local newspaper, after he had left university without a diploma.

Way to fame Sinatra has received a push to the career in the work of the famous swing - jazz orchestras. In February 1939 Sinatra married his first love, Nancy Barbato was the most difficult in his career: he was tired from the radio, Nancy asked the divorce, «Columbia Records» denied him in collaboration. At the age of 34, Frank became the "man of the past“. In 1951, Sinatra married Ava Gardner and divorced six years later. In addition, Sinatra had lost his voice after a bad cold. All these unfortunates were so unexpected and heavy that the singer was going to commit suicide.

Return to activity and "Oscar"  Voice problems were temporary, and when he recovered, Sinatra began everything again. In 1953, he starred in the film «From Here to Eternity», for which received the "Oscar" for Best Supporting Actor. Leaves the stage, the last years and death  In 1971, Sinatra announced that he was retiring, but since 1974 has continued his concert activity. In 1979, Sinatra recorded one of his masterpieces - «New York, New York», becoming the only singer in history who managed in fifty years to regain the popularity and love of the public. On 14 May 1998 Frank Sinatra died of a heart attack at the age of 82. He was buried next to his father and mother. The inscription on the tombstone of the singer says: "The best - ahead"
