TRANSITION UPDATES December 2014

There must be something happening weird going on in Lansing before each holiday … Labor Day we were told to get rid of all previous B13 checklists & use the NSTTAC Form A or B…so we did Halloween we were told get rid of NSTTAC Form A or B, we’re going back to the MI B13 checklist from last year…so we did Thanksgiving we were just told…wait for it…yes, we’re going back to the NSTTAC Form A for the 2015 B13 IEP reviews & data collection…so we are December Holiday…yes, there’s a new official 2015 Michigan B13 Checklist from the CIMS

From the CIMS Team Checklist that will be used for spring data collection related to SPP Part B Indicator 13 (Secondary Transition). This checklist will be programmed into the Continuous Improvement and Monitoring System (CIMS) in the April 2015 electronic workbook. Questions??? Guidance Training Timeframe IEPs prior to April 15 th Workbook opening

B13 Secondary Transition January OCTA I’ll bring the Checklist You bring: IEP Your Questions

Do Not Make Yourself Crazy… The B13 Indicator language is the same If you’re compliant with any of the checklist versions- you’re probably compliant It would be helpful to… Review IEPs as they are completed Pull 20ish each month for a check Is our B13 Compliant ???

Changes to NSTTAC NSTTAC – National Secondary Transition Technical Assistance Center Is going away Will be replaced in 2015 with Transition ‘supercenter’ which joins NSTTAC, NSPSO, Trans Coalition, etc.

MI Rules (MARSE) Joint Committee on Administrative Rules JCAR decided to take no action on the rules package, which equates to its withdrawal from the rule promulgation process. The MI Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) will remain as they currently are.

What does this mean for transition? PLAN!
