825Y(YA) 3/4”-2”

Modification Overview  Production of the 825Y began in 1978 and is current.  The 825YR ( ) had replaceable check seats. ** In 2006 replaceable seats became standard in the 825Y and 825YA versions. ** In 2006 replaceable seats became standard in the 825Y and 825YA versions.  The 825YA (1989-Current) has angled inlet and outlet valves.  The 825YS has silicone rubber parts.  A lead free version (LF825Y) was introduced in 2010.

Check Cover Removal  Cover is threaded into body and o-ring sealed.  Cover is spring loaded.  Loosen cover with wrench, then remove by hand while holding tightly against spring pressure.

Check Valve Removal  Poppet style check valve.  The poppet and spring are free once the cover is removed.

Check Seat Removal  Earlier models of the 825Y do not have replaceable seats. **Current models that start with a “J” serial # have replaceable seats. **Current models that start with a “J” serial # have replaceable seats.  825YR has replaceable seats.  Seats are threaded and o-ring sealed.

Check Disc Replacement  Remove screw and disc washer from poppet.

Check Valve Reassembly Notes  Inspect and clean the guide bore on the cover.  The stem must move freely in the guide bore.  Reassemble in reverse order.

RV Cover Removal  RV cover is sealed by the diaphragm.  Spring load is contained.  Carefully remove sensing port bushing.

RV Module Removal  Module is o-ring sealed.  Pull module straight out of body.

RV Seat Removal  Replaceable RV seats only standard on units manufacturer after  RV seat is threaded and o-ring sealed.  Loosen the allen bolts and remove RV body.  Remove discharge shield.  Use socket or pliers to unscrew.

RV Seat Replacement Notes  Reassemble in reverse order.  Make sure port bushings and discharge shield is in place.  Lubricate o-rings.

RV Disc Replacement  Remove screw, disc washer, and disc.

Disassemble RV Module  Module is spring loaded.  Hold module firmly and remove button screw.

Disassemble RV Module  Push the main stem through the guide.  Remove the main stem o-ring.

RV Reassembly Notes  Reassemble in reverse order.  Lubricate the guide o-ring. o-ring.  Push the RV module straight into body.

RV Reassembly Notes  Make sure sensing port bushing is in place.  Position the diaphragm on the cover and tighten bolts.
