A conjunction is a word that is used in writing to join words or parts of a sentence.

 A coordinating conjunction connect words, such as, two or more nouns or two or more verbs.  They can also connect large groups of words, such as prepositional phrases or complete sentences.

 The seven types of coordinating conjunctions.  you can abbreviate them by : FAN BOYS:  F: stands for ‘for’ › A: stands for ‘and’  N: stands for ‘nor’  B: stands for ‘but’  O: stands for ‘or’  Y: stands for ‘yet’  S: stands for ‘so’

 1- Ziyad and Saad went to the school. but  2- The water was warm, but I didn’t go to swim. or  3- The cafeteria offered a choice of a milk or juice. yet  4- He followed the recipe, yet the cake still turned out dry. Examples of coordinating conjunctions

 1- A subordinating clause can not stand alone as a sentence.  2- A clause is a group of words with a subject and a verb.  3- A subordinating conjunctions join a subordinate ( dependent ) clause to a main (independent) clause.

 As, until, where, when, while Since, in order, because, though provided, if, although, so, unless that, how, after, before Types of subordinating conjunctions.
