Chapter 3 By: Ashley and Alexis

Who??? Bud was the only character involved in chapter 3.

When??? After the Amos family locked Bud up in the shed.

What Happened??? Bud got locked up in the Amos’ shed. Bud got stung numerous times by hornets which he thought were vampire bats. Bud cut his hand on fish heads.

How did it happen??? Bud swung at what he thought were vampire bats with a rake. It turned out they were really hornets. He reached out to check to see if the door was locked and cut his hand on the fish heads.

Why did this happen??? This happened because Todd earlier stated to watch out because the previous kids never made it out the shed. This made Bud very aware of his surroundings and scared.

Chapter 4 By the same peeps

Who??? The people that were involved in this chapter are Todd and Bud.

When did it happen?? This chapter happened in The Amos Family’s house.

What happened?? Bud got revenge on Todd by making him wet the bed.

How did it happen? First Bud stuck Tod’s hand in a cup of warm water. But that didn’t work so he poured the water on his pajamas.

Why did it happen?? Bud got revenge because the Amos Family were mean to him, and locked him in the shed.

Chapter’s 5-6 By: Darian and Zariel

Chapter 5 Where? Where?  In chapter 5, Bud was on the lam. He was in the Amos’s neighborhood. Then he went to library and was under the tree. Who? Who?  In this chapter, the only real character was Bud although he talked about his mom for most of it. Why? Why?  The reason he was on the lam was because the Amos’s were mean to him. How? How?  Bud broke out of the shed window, got his revenge then he just ran away to the library. When? When?  All of this happened at night.

Chapter 6 Where? Where?  It happened at a Soup Kitchen (Mission) in Flint, Michigan. Who? Who?  Bud, the family who pretended he was his son, and the guard. Why? Why?  Bud came late to the Soup Kitchen. How? How?  Bud overslept and when he went to the mission the guard tried to “whop” him and the pretend family saved him by pretending he was their son. When? When?  It happened in the morning around 7 A.M.

Chapter 7-8 By: Serena & Lily

What Happened?  Chapter 7;Bud went to the library and figured out Ms. Hill got married. Bud figures out how long it takes to get to Chicago to see Ms. Hill.  Chapter 8; Bud found Bugs and went to “Hooverville”. Bud missed the train going west. He also got kissed by Deza Malone.

Why did it happen?  Chapter 7;Bud wanted to figure out how to get from Flint to Chicago to see Ms. Hill  Chapter 8;Bugs wanted to find a job out west. Bud wanted to find Ms. Hill

How did it happen?  Chapter 7; Bud just decided to go to the library  Chapter 8; Bud was sleeping and Bugs jumped on him. Bud kind of liked Deza. Bud’s blue flyer flew in the air and missed the train.

When did it happen?  Chapter 7; During the Great Depression  Chapter 8; During the Great Depression at night.

Chapter 10 What Happen- Bud was walking to Grand Rapids when Lefty Lewis found him, and offered him some food. Then Bud tried to steal Lefty’s car, but the car stop because Bud doesn’t know how to drive.

Chapter 13 What Happened? - Bud met his father for the first time. The band and Mr. Calloway denied Budd being Mr. Calloway son and they invited Budd to eat with them at the Sweet Pea. Where did it happen? -It happened in Grand Rapids and at the log cabin. Who was involved? -Budd, Herman E Calloway, Jimmy, Doug, Steady Eddie, Chug and Roy.

Chapter 13 continued…. Why did it happen? - It happened because he was alone walking in the dark. When did it happen? - It all happened during the Great Depression. How did I happen? - The man names Lefty Louis found him walking away from Flint and brought him to Mr. Calloway

Chapter 14 What happened? - The band Budd and Mr. Calloway went to the Sweet Pea and they talked and ate. Where did it happen? - At the Sweet Pea. Who was involved? - Ms. Thomas, Mr. Calloway, Jimmy, Budd, and the band. Why? - Because Mr. Calloway and the band were hungry and they thought Budd looked hungry. When? -During the Great Depression How did it happen? -They drove to the Sweet Pea.

Flint, Michigan Flint Michigan is the city that Bud Caldwell was born and raised in Flint, Michigan. He was also put in a foster home in Flint. Then he was sent to the Amos’s house to live with them and he ran away.

Hooverville When Bud ran away he went to look for the Hoverville and live with them. He stayed there for one night and tried to catch the train to go west to Chicago, but missed it because he tried to get his flyer. While he was there he met Deza Malone and got his first kiss.

Great Depression This story took place during the great depression in the 1920s. During this time America was very poor. Nobody had homes or jobs.

Grand Rapids Grand Rapids is a city in Michigan. That is where Herman E. Calloway is and where Bud is trying to get. When he was on his way there. He met Lefty Lewis and got a ride to Grand Rapids.

Buds Behavior He was babyish in many ways, and he usually has good manners. He was easily frightened of many things, and for his age, he’s very mature. In most of the book Bud acts dishonest, but he is thankful for any and everything.

His Thoughts  He spends a lot of time thinking of his past dealing with his mother. He also thinks a lot about finding his father, until he finally does. At times he thinks about his rules.
