Men’s Clothing

 Made of skin or fur  Fastened at the neck or over shoulder  Serves as an overcoat

 Ankle length  Fastened around waist with a belt  Worn for warmth and protection

 Soft cloth and laced on the back of the hand  Made by naalbinding or by sewing.  Worn for warmth

 Worn usually from the shoulders to somewhere between hips and ankle.  With or without sleeves  Worn by both men and women

Anglo Saxon Women

Anglo-Saxon women's clothing Fifth to Sixth centuries Shifts and gowns. Fastenings at shoulders. Sashes. Wealthier women had color and jewelry.

Frankish influences Seventh century Gown styles changed. Sashes were smaller and more decorative. Bands of contrasting color.
