Welcome to Chemistry Prepare to be challenged

Chem Is Try How am I going to be GRADED? – Tests 30% – Labs 20% – Final 20% – Homework 10% – Notebook 10% – Quizzes and Participation 10%

Tests There will be 3 tests this trimester – Basics – Atomic Theory and Periodic Table – Naming

Labs Lab groups will be educator selected. Keep your own notes during labs Submit lab report to educator electronically

Homework All assignments are worth 1 point! You are expected to attempt all work and learn from your mistakes. I will be looking for your reflections on each assignment.

Notebook Need to have a notebook by TOMORROW!!! All notes (class notes and lab notes) must be kept. SPIRAL notebooks are the BEST! Should be an easy 10%

Quizzes Most quizzes will be over the elements. Learn ~ 10 elements per week 5 quizzes Know symbol of each element and location Week 1: – H, Li, Na, K – Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba

What’s the relation? Hypothesis Theory Law
