This week we are learning about Jewish homes.

What special things do we keep in our house?

How do we look after our special things?

Jewish people keep many special things in their house.

One very special thing is a Mezuzah.

The Mezuzah is a special box with a prayer inside it.

The Mezuzah is put on the door. When Jewish people go in and out of their door they kiss the Mezuzah.

The Mezuzah is decorated to make it special.

There are lots of different ways in which people decorate them.

Today we will make our own Mezuzahs. Write a short prayer to God on a strip of paper. Decorate an envelope to put it in, this will show it is special.
