My presentation is going to be about a great man. He had a family to worry about when he was gone doing the great things he did. This man’s name was John Jay. JOHN JAY INTRODUCTION
John Jay’s early life, John Jay had 9 siblings and was born into a wealthy merchant family. He was born in New York on December 12, He went to kings college for his education.
John Jay’s adulthood, John Jay got married to Sarah Livingston daughter of William Livingston. He got married on April 28, When John and Sarah got married John was 28 years old but Sarah Was only 17. John had asked another girl to marry him before Sarah but she said no. When John had to go deal with the treaty of Paris Sarah had to stay at Ben Franklins house until there daughter Nancy was born. He had six children, also he was a successful lawyer. So he was happily married and had six children to take care of.
John Jay’s death John died on May 17, He was about 83 when he died. He died from a stroke. So he lived for a long time and he had a family that loved him.
John Jay’s contribution to the revolutionary war, In 1774 John represented New York at the continental congress. Also he signed the treaty of Paris with several other men on November 30, So he signed the treaty of Paris and helped New York.
Books authored by John Jay, John wrote 5 essays that became known as the Federalist Papers. Also John authored a pamphlet of addresses to New York. So he wrote 5 essays and an address book for New York.
So now you know about the man who if he hadn’t done all those things he did we would be missing a signature from the treaty of Paris, we would be missing an author for The Federalist Papers,also we would have been missing a great representative for New York in the continental congress.
