DO-NOW: IMAGINE AMERICA IS TAKEN OVER BY A FOREIGN GOVERNMENT. YOU ARE PART OF A RESISTANCE MOVEMENT AND HAVE CAPTURED AN OFFICER OF THE FOREIGN ARMY. IS KILLING HIM JUSTIFIED? 4/8/15 AIM: HOW DOES THE NARRATOR OF DAWN GIVE HINTS TO HIS PSYCHOLOGICAL CONDITION?

NARRATOR: ELISHA Elisha is an eighteen-year-old young man, going on nineteen. He spends several years at Buchenwald before being freed by Americans. He moves to Palestine and joins the Movement, a terrorist group opposed to the British government’s rule. He is very thoughtful, contemplating man's actions and his own place in the scheme of things.

CHARACTERS: GAD AND ILANA Gad recruits Elisha into the Movement and brings him to Palestine from Paris. Ilana is a young woman, fiance to Gad and member of the Movement

CHAPTER 1 PART 1 What is Elisha as he looks out the window as the sun goes down, thinking about? Where did Elisha meet the beggar? Who might the beggar be? What was the synagogue like?
