GES 131/145 Foundations of Engineering I Announcements
Pre- and Co-requisite Checks Math113 or 115 or 125 is a co-requisite for this course – you must be enrolled You must have completed Math112 with at least a C- or have tested into Math115/125 to be eligible for this course It is your responsibility to make sure that you are in the correct courses for your degree program
EN103 Students with a score of 30 or greater on English portion only of ACT should be enrolled in EN103. This is to your advantage - take 1 course for 3hr and get 6hr credit for EN101 + EN102.
Computer Science Majors Only GES131 is optional – freshman can take it in place of COM123 within their first 3 semesters on campus Chemistry 101 is not required for CS students but can be used to fulfill the Natural Science requirement
Transfer Students Only You may not need to take this course … Check with your department or Engineering Student Services in 112 HM Comer if you think you have credit for a similar course at another university Examples: UAB – EGR100 Bevill State – EGR100 + IDS115 + EGR156 = GES131 + GES132
Student’s Responsibility: Make adjustments as needed to your schedule via Tide Navigator or contact your department or advisor Transfer student or dual enrollment – check to make sure transcripts have been sent/arrived AP or CLEP credit – check to make sure test scores have been sent/arrived
Announcements Students who appear on the roster as AS, CBA, etc - this is what is currently in the system. To transfer into engineering must complete a “Transfer of Division” form and have a minimum 2.00 GPA only if you have more than 24 credit hours already. If you do not have the required GPA – complete a Division Transfer form so ESS can follow up & talk with you at a later date If you are in COE and need to declare/change engineering majors – complete a Program Change form.
