Facts  Prophet Muhammad was the founder of Islam.  The Arabic word Islam means submission and obedience and derives from a word meaning peace.  A Muslim is a follower of the religion of Islam.

Facts  The Muslim scripture is a Holy Qur'an  Muslim building for communal worship is called a mosque.

Main Muslim Festivals  Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and a time when Muslims across the world fast during the hours of daylight.  Dhu Al Hijja: The month of pilgrimage during which all muslims, at least once in their life should make the pilgrimage to Mecca.

Main Muslim Festivals  Al Hijja: The Islamic New year begins on the day Prophet Muhammad left Mecca to travel to Mediana.
