Stefan Thorvaldsson – Processor and internal memory devices Secondary storage devices Output devices Input devices

Stefan Thorvaldsson – Central processing unit Does the mathematic, calculating, controlling and all logical operations. The computers brain!

Stefan Thorvaldsson – Internal memory There are two types. They are called RAM and ROM. The difference is that you can write to RAM and only read from ROM. RAM is temporary and fast and ROM is stored on a chip or CD. BIOS

Stefan Thorvaldsson – Input devices Are used to get (write) data to the computer ready for processing by the CPU. Input devices can be used manually or automatic.

Stefan Thorvaldsson – Output devices If data has been transferred into the computer, it’s now information. To get it out from the computer again you need output devices.

Stefan Thorvaldsson – Backing storage Secondary storage use removable media. It is used for programs and data that’s not needed for the computer initially and instantly by the computer. Long term storage and back up copies.
