Morning Routines Day begins promptly at 7:50am Pledge of allegiance Independent Reading time begins at 7:55am and ends at 8:20am Monday morning first grade has running club in the gym at 7:35am until 7:50am

Home Practice Home practice is a nightly 30 minute process –Reading…Silently/Read Aloud- 15 minutes –Word Study/Spelling –Spelling City –Math/IXL –Dream Box –Flash word cards Homework will be sent home every Monday and should be returned on Fridays. In addition the math homework and FYI notes will be posted on line.

V.I.P. (Very Important person) Each week one student will be my assistant. They will be given a variety of duties and will be exempt form normal student routines. One day during the week, they will have lunch with me and on ice cream day, I will treat them to an ice cream from the cafeteria.

Field Trip/ Chaperones In May, we will be taking a trip to Blandy Farm. More information will be sent out as we get closer. Class Shirts This year Arcola will be having a fund raiser to raise money for our school PBIS behavior program. The students will be encouraged to order a shirt. Shirts are worn during assemblies and on spirit day. They are perfect for our field trip and we would like to suggest purchasing one for your child.
