Physical characteristics This is a Diamond-back Rattlesnake. The rattlesnake you see uses its defenses by its poison in its fangs. When the snake is not using its fangs they put them in the back of the mouth. A rattlesnake also has a rattle at the end of its body.

adaptations  Some snakes have cool adaptations like night vision. They can also spit poison in some countries. There is a pit viper called the King Cobra and the Spitting Cobra. Some snakes can also strike as fast as the eye can see.

Scientist classifications  Kingdom/animalia phylum/chordata subphylum/vertebrata class/reptilia order/squamata suborder/serpentes family/viperidae

Life cycle  The snake life cycle is hatchling, juvenile, sub adult and adult. That’s a snake life cycle. This also goes for all snakes. Also if you see a snake egg the mom’s not far away. So if you see eggs don’t go close to them.

Diet  Snakes like to eat lizards, frogs, birds and small mammals. You would not want to get bit by a snake. Some can kill you in one bite. So if you see a snake don’t go too close.Lastly, a snake will also eat other snakes.

Habitat  Snakes have many habitats, from rain forest to jungles and your back yard. They can live in a rain forest because all of the animals live there, like their favorite small prey animals. They can live in jungles because of the frogs and birds.Lastly, they can live your back yard off of the birds and small animals.

Tidbits/History of development  The biggest pit viper is 16 feet long. Also the longest fangs were measured at 2 inches long. In 2013 to 2014 there was a new pit viper found in China.

Snakes in church  Did you know if you go to some churches there is a statue of a saint with their foot over a snake? You can also see it in CCD, if you go. I see this statue all the time.

Fun fact  There is also a car called a Viper. The car is a sports car. It is really fast and a nice car too. Also in WWE super star Randy Orton is also known as The Viper. Also you can find two headed snakes; they are rare.
