Copyright © KOTBA All rights reserved Frequently Asked Questions 1.What is the difference between ITS, e-transportation and Telematics? - Intelligent Transportation can cover e-transportation and telematics but only if Telematics are focusing on automotive. Also, there are many other telematics services are available rather than traffic information like entertainment, shopping via wireless network not only inside the car but anywhere you use.(ITS is more focusing on public service and Telematics are more focusing on personnel service. 2. Isn’t this the same work that other fora already done with? - Yes and no. That is why we have to find out what other fora and economies are doing in this field and what is the most obstacle and barriers for this market and how should gov’t can harmonize the policy and regulation before it bring chaos situation. 3. It is very hard to find the right person to be in this project steering group and don’t know how to approach this project since we don’t understand the exact industries of this business - I am sure that it would be very hard since we don’t see any org. which only focusing on Telematics but it would be a good start to find the people who are in mobile operator,Automakers, SI and Device manufacturers. 4.What do we do with the result of this research? - We will discuss with project steering group and other fora to see if the next step would be necessary and would help APEC TEL economies to reach the common goal out of this result.
