Students will understand that there are many aspects to a personality that determine whether a career is suitable to that person. Students will be able to take an assessment test, discover parts of their personalities, find a career that they are interested in and has also been suited to their personality type. Performance Tasks: Students will complete the Webquest, then determine which three careers they wish to further research for an essay and presentation. Key Criteria: Printout of assessment test data, reflection about their evaluation, determination of (3) career choices, (3) career essays and (1) presentation of choice. Differentiation is accommodated by completing an online assessment test that varies depending on the user. Although there is only one test, the end result varies depending upon the person taking the test. The media usage and language is very simple to use and can be used by all ages or users, if a student needed help, it would simple to adjust. Additionally, if needed this assignment can be done with a partner. Each partner could take the test and then each could share the responsibilities of the rest of the assignment. Additionally, this assignment could be completed at home with a parents. Learning styles are accommodated through the use of the computer as an interactive tool. The student is learning about his/herself by the answers they choose. Not only is it suited to just the internet savvy, the assignment includes portions using the word processor to complete essays, and giving a verbal presentation. This is assignment adheres to the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learner. Some of the Engaged Learning Techniques used in this assignment is that it is visually stimulating, it is easy to use, and the assignment deals directly with each individual person and the assignment changes to each person’s answers and opinions.
