Putting it to Bed Copyright Lawsuits They are very expensive You may never see a penny if you win International Lawsuits are very expensive (just trying to track down the person) Majority of lawsuits, exceptions with class action suits & others, have a poor history of making payments (TX is a state where wage garnishments are not allowed.*) Most lawsuits are not worth the time and money If you sue against a company, they can extend the court date multiple times, ensuring you go broke before going to court. Lawyers work on retainers (that’s how they make most of their money) you have to pay first for their services on any case that may or may not return somethingretainers Majority of the time if you lose, you pay the other sides legal fees Don’t sue unless you know you can get the money!

Review Social Media looks like fun but its all business on the other side. Those cute videos, or videos of kids playing around and making crazy videos with huge followings, make money. It takes a creative idea to make a social media platform work. Social Media works on the idea of Free-Information Sharing, Sharing is Caring, so play nice. If you don’t like to share your work, STAY OFF of social media. Social Media provides free publicity, which is a valid (money) exchange, for reblogging or reposting of your work. Yes, you do get something in return for it so don’t complain. Don’t always expect to be paid for your work online with social media. Not all channels are about kids trying to become famous or singing. What is your business model, message, platform, and purpose for using social media. Ideas can never be patented, trademarked, or copyrighted. Look at what other people do and mimic it.
