Solar powered oven By Elton White.

Overview At the S.T.E.M academy we are making solar- powered ovens. We’ve researched solar power and its uses, here is what we learned: Solar power is: the use of the sun’s heat and rays to do work. Here are some ways it can be used: Drying laundry Charging various items Daytime light Heating water Greenhouse

Along the way So far we have researched and we have been working on concept art of our ovens design… My oven will be composed of wood, aluminum, black felt, Styrofoam, and mirrors. With the help of gorilla glue, nail, power-saws, hammers, measuring tape, and paint. The measurements of my oven are 8.50 inches by 6 inches. Area and perimeter will be included on the next page…

Along the way continued Area (Length x Width) 8.5 x in2 Inches squared

Along the way continued Perimeter (Widthx2 + Lengthx2) x 2.0 x in 12.0in 29.0in

Along the way continued Oven concept (Outside from top) Sun^ Aluminum foil > Aluminum foil^ <Aluminum foil styro foam

Along the way continued Oven concept (Inside) styrofoam ^ bars v

The process First we measured out our wood then, we made a 2D model on the computer. We had to wait for the wood to be cut, then we had put our aluminum foil and black felt and the rest on, then put it together. Next we ran into some difficulties and some things had to be trimmed down. After that we put it together and painted it.

After we bake ^~~^^~ ~~~~~ We will eat the cookies and see which groups earned which awards.. After we baked I realized we could’ve made it bake faster by doing the things on the next slide..

Improvements O Take big ugly bars out of the equation. O Line more black felt (on the walls) O Plexiglass at angle covered with aluminum foil propped on the walls.
