TRANSITIONING TOWARD URBAN RESILIENCE AND SUSTAINABILITY "Experts do not simply know more than others, their domain specific knowledge about particular specialist subjects is different (more coherent) structures than a lay's knowledge. An expert's knowledge consists of continuous integrated and problem-related concepts. These bundle complex empirical knowledge which has to be unfolded for communicative purposes (Schmidt & Boshuizen, 1992; van de Wiel, 1997). For experts, technical terms have a communicative function and above all they provide the basis for their categorical cognition. " Bromme & Rambow (2001: 542)
