SCENARIO 1 January 17, :20 a.m. You are the on-call probation officer in Hamilton County, and receive the following telephone call: “This is Officer Brown from Riverview. I’ve got three males in custody for an armed robbery that just occurred at the Central Bank ATM. The female victim was forced to withdraw $300, and was then assaulted. She was taken to the hospital, but should be OK.

SCENARIO 1 con’t. January 17, :20 a.m. The perpetrators are as follows: John Wilson (age 15) from Riverview; Bill Martin (age 14) from Riverview; and Al Jackson (age 18) from Spencer County, Pa. Jackson is Martin’s cousin, and just turned 18 last week. I want these guys off the street, RIGHT NOW!!”
