AHEPA Capital District No Workshop Presentation

New District Program Objective: To introduce a program to improve the participation of existing Ahepans through networking and support. II.Purpose: To help each member become more connected with his fellow Brothers and to improve the relationship between each Chapter. V.Procedure: A. New member completes application and submits it manually or on-line. B. His application is received by the Membership (GOTO) Committee. C.The GOTO Committee reviews the application, confirms applicant’s eligibility and makes recommendation for approval.

The new member is initiated during a chapter meeting and assigned to a “GOTO” Advocate at the Initiation Ceremony. 1.The GOTO Advocate (GOTO Guy) serves as a wise and trusted guide, advisor and resource for the new member. 2.The GOTO Advocate or “GOTO Guy” must agree to spend time with the new member and take him under his wing.

V.Procedure (Con’t) : E.From the point of initiation, the mentor will take on the following responsibilities: 1.Be available to answer any questions and help integrate the new member to AHEPA.

V.Procedure (Con’t) : 2.Provide new member handbook about AHEPA which includes a minimum of the following: a.AHEPA National: Info concerning AHEPA National Projects, AHEPA Structure, and other pertinent information (from National web site or other sources). Info on AHEPA History to educate members on AHEPA’s past philanthropic endeavors.

V.Procedure (Con’t) : c. Local AHEPA Chapter, (some of this is given during formal initiation) Including Programs and Projects, Committees, etc. Charges given to each Officer – elected and appointed. Explanation of symbols, banner, etc. Emphasis on the principles of AHEPA (Speak evil of no one, etc).
