Famous Public Service Announcements G.I. Joe This was a cartoon soldier created during World War II for United States military magazine. G.I. Joe was later turned into an action figure in 1964.
Keep America Beautiful This organization was created in 1954. The most famous PSA that Keep America Beautiful put out was “The Crying Indian” which debuted on Earth Day in 1971. In 1998 they also created a PSA to remind the public of the original PSA The Crying Indian
Smokey Bear Smokey Bear is the longest run Public Service Announcement run in U.S. history. Smokey is the mascot for the United States Forest Service which was created in 1944.
