Presentation transcript:

By Alexandra Villanueva, Meredith Kerrigan, and Tracy Geren (Group 6)

Planted the seeds. In cells 1 and 2 (exp. Group) the seeds were planted in the middle of the cell. In cells 3 and 4, the seeds were planted closer to the bottom of the cell. Three fertilizer pellets were planted with the seeds. Both groups/quads (controlled and experimental) were placed on watering mats. This whole experiment lasted about 40 days. At the end, we pollinated the plants.

Type of soil (potting) unit of measurement (mm) # of fertilizer pellets (3) # of seeds (3 in each cell) size/type of container (Styrofoam quads) # of algae squares (1) # of hours in the light (24 hrs.) # of days (40), type of plant/seed (Wisconsin Fast Plant/Brassica Rapa) power of the light (40 watts)

This graph shows all the averages of both groups. It also shows the comparison of their averages. The highest average of the groups was mm. The lowest measurement was a tie. Both groups had 30.9 mm.

Different types/brands of light. (Different power.) Experimental Group got moved off the watering mat before the final measurement. Controlled Group got moved far away from the light. Measurement mistakes. Seed and pod miscounts.

The lower the seeds are planted, the shorter the plants will grow. The controlled group had more seeds grown than the experimental group, but the experimental group had more pods than the controlled group. (The controlled group was more developed, but the experimental was taller.)

Group six thinks that Ms. Johnson, should check and make sure that the lights are relatively the same. Please make sure that all the plants do not get moved off their water mats, or moved from the light.
