Year 7 Homework Support Booklet The home learning projects is your Graphics homework. These are tasks that will use researched information, as well as information you have studied in class. This booklet will enable you to become an independent enquirer. It will improve and extend your knowledge, understanding and skills across the subjects. If you are having difficulties it is your responsibility to ask your class teacher help and support.

Design a mood board. Create a picture poster showing different brands of cereal for children that already exist in the supermarkets. 1 sheet of A4 paper Done by hand by collecting pictures and sticking down or on the computer Must be stuck into your exercise book if printed. Step 2 – I can use simple images to create a mood board Step 3 – I am able to explain my images Step 4 – I can record and evaluate my images to show the reader what the poster tells you. This can be done by saying what the strengths and weaknesses are of some of the images. HOMEWORK 1 – Mood board

HOMEWORK 2 – Analysing Packaging Step 2 – I can use a packaging image and add basic annotation to identify key features Step 3 – I am able to explain my packaging by giving most of the key features of information with a point to highlight a strength and weakness about the packaging Step 4 – I am able to explain my packaging by giving all of the key features of information with a detailed explanation to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of the packaging 1. Collect a children’s cereal box. Take a picture of it or stick down the box so it is flat to show the outline of the net. 2. Label all the items on the packaging 3. Evaluate your findings: Think about colour Image Size Price Target group it is aimed at Example on the next page

Homework 2 example page Ingredients list Company Logo Contents Amount of liquid contained in the bottle Guide line daily amount Bar code Product advertisement Company contact details Recycling information Storage details As well as labelling your packaging do not forget to evaluate.

HOMEWORK 3 – Colouring and Designing Step 2 – I have used simplistic colours and a simple bag design that relates to the task. Step 3 - I have used 3 complementary colours and a created a realistic bag design. My work has basic annotation that relates to the task. Step 4 – - I have used 3 complementary colours and a created a realistic and creative bag design. My work has annotation to show who my bag would be suitable for and why. Task 1: The plane below will be taking us on our journey. Decorate the plane using ONLY 3 COLOURS. You must make the plane stand out so that when people see it they recognise it. Remember to keep your shading neat and tidy! You must evaluate to tell me what colours you have used and why. Task 2: You will need a bag for your journey. Design a bag that will keep your things safe and can be moved easily using wheels. When you have finished your design: Draw an arrow to the handle of the bag that you will hold to carry it. Colour your bag neatly Evaluate and annotate your design Hand-out will be provided for you to use

HOMEWORK 4 Create a game that could be played at the end of a lesson as a plenary activity, which covers something you have learnt from any of the lessons so far. This could be a quiz, true/false, mix and match etc…try be creative Make sure that the activity is completed and struck in your exercise book. Make sure you include a summary of what you have created and how it works Step 2 – I can produce a basic outline of my game / task. Step 3 – I can produce the plenary game with a basic plan of how it works. Step 4 – I have fully designed my plenary task. I am able to explain my task to say how it works and what the benefits are.
