This Week in Biology

 All living things depend on each other to survive; nothing can survive alone

 Mutualism – win / win relationship  Commensalism – win / neutral relationship  Parasitism – win / lose relationship; the host does NOT die

 Competition – Organisms must secure limited resources  Predation – One organism eats another. One dies.

 Physical or behavioral trait that helps an organism survive in its environment.

 How do the birds adapt to less rain?  To more rain?  Can NEW birdbeak sizes happen? How?  Does the beak of individual beaks grow or shrink? How does adaptation work?
