Special Learning Camp 7 camps in 6 States, each State had Language and Maths camps (BH, AS, WB, JHK, UP and RAJ) 3 successive camps :  10 days each  20 days gap between each camp  children in each class Targeted children in Language: Children from beginner, letter and word levels. ( Targeted children varied from one camp to another; Assam and Bihar(Fatuha) worked mostly with words level children and a few from the levels below, while in other camps children came from all, word, letter and beginner levels. ) Targeted children in Maths: Children from beginners, 1-9 and number recognition upto 100.

Objectives of Special camp  In Language:  Children should be able to read a story fluently with comprehension.  Writing refinement.  In Maths:  Children should be able to do operations with numbers beyond 100. (3 digit )

Preparatory phase Choice of texts (worksheets prepared for 2 nd LC and onwards) Creating instruction design for the learning camp Provided video: explaining the do’s and don'ts in learning camp Regular inter action/teleconference with the concerned people

Class Process 1 st Learning Camp:  Children grouped according to the level (ASER testing tool)  Oracy development component  Story related activities: Model reading by teachers Shared reading by children Children asked to ‘read’ aloud Discussion around text  Decoding activities  Writing: ‘kuch bhi bolo kuch bhi likho’
