The new project extends Line 1, connecting Ipanema to Barra, and passes through high urban density areas. This layout will ensure best cost/benefit relation to the population since it considers infrastructure for intermodal integration in the nearby areas, and will also improve the transit as long as it creates opportunities of transport rationalization.
