Adding to what you already know about World War I, you will build yet another link to the past. Were the soldiers on either side really so different? The Task As a prequel to reading All Quiet on the Western Front, each group of four will research aspects of World War I and create a twenty-five slide Photo Story of pictures and songs representative of the times. In addition, each person in the group will complete and hand in The WebQuest Dossier, a collection of answers from your Internet probing. The Process Mission 1: Photo Story Select 3 songs from the World War I Era and save onto your desktop. Make sure to save the title. Each person in the group will find and download six different pictures relating to the category selected (for a total of 24 pictures). The categories are Trench Warfare, Technology, Propaganda, and Human Interest Stories. Save to desktop. Using the Photo Story program learned earlier, create a story featuring three songs, 24 slides (six from each category), a personal voice over, a title slide, and a final slide noting group member names. As you begin to read Remarque’s, All Quiet On the Western Front, put faces on the characters, hear their songs, and participate in the heated discussions on the morality of war.
