Do you have a current agency plan? 4 –year Strategic Action plan for the Department of Health Services It is a performance based work plan and budget, which is project and outcome based Linked to FSM DH&SA and PSDHS existing guiding documents Is transparent and, and has built in indicators for success. Plan is still in draft

Stages and time line for planning process PSDHS decided to develop a 4-year strategic Action Plan in st ever PSDHS Annual Health Forum held in June 2010, involving PSDHS, and stakeholders SAP kick-off during 2 nd Annual meeting on March 23-25,2011 To be completed in 2013

Strength of the plan and planning Planning Process SAP is developed by the Health Services staff and Stakeholders without assistance of consultant It is transparent and has built in indicators for success. It will be evaluated continuously annually during Annual Health forum It is developed to guide us in our work

Challenges Limited financial support Shortage of manpower to cover the clinics Less experience in developing a Stategic Plan Poor coordination between Health team leaders and members

Recommendations Involvement of local communities, and appropriate stakeholders in the planning process
