CH. 8 CHALLENGE By Aidan Smallacombe

HOW YOU DO IT (MULTIPLICATION)  To multiply fractions you first multiply the numerators. Then, you do the same with the denominators. If you need to, reduce your product.

HOW YOU DO IT (DIVISION) WWell, first you flip the fraction of the divisor. Then you multiply the two fractions and get the quotient.

PROBLEM ONE  Karyn runs 5 1/2 miles a day. How far would Karyn run a week?

PROBLEM TWO GGeorge, Bob and Liana each were 4 feet 8 inches. What is their height in all?

PROBLEM THREE  Larry bought a 25 5/6 pound turkey for Thanksgiving. He and his 12 family members want an equal amount of turkey. How many pounds of turkey does each person get?

PROBLEM 4  Judith’s shoe lace is 12 ¾ inches long. She wants to make the shoe lace 3 times shorter. How long is Judith’s shoe lace now?
