Review of Priorities Course scheduling efficiency: –Use data to ensure the right courses are being offered –Use data to ensure the right number of sections/seats are being offered Reduce primetime scheduling in classrooms
Team Objectives Short term: 1.Identify most meaningful changes that can be made to the Fall 2013 schedule to improve student success and efficiency 2.Communicate these suggested changes to scheduling decision makers within academic departments Long term: 1.Identify patterns in scheduling efficiencies/ inefficiencies in order to suggest policy and or informal scheduling protocol
Roles & Responsibilities All: 1.Provide necessary supplemental information and/or research to filter list of suggested changes in order to identify “pearls” (most meaningful recommendations) 2.Collaborate to finalize list of “pearls” 3.Determine communication plan/messaging strategy to decision makers (i.e. provide context for these data and rationale for the changes) College/Department Representative: 1.Communicate “pearls” to scheduling decision makers within academic departments Executive Sponsors: 1.Determine appropriate accountability measures for schedule changes (focused on priorities: right courses/# of sections and meeting pattern adherence, especially hybrids)

Homework & Timelines Apply your knowledge of course offerings (outside of or within your own department) and/or research the suggested changes Bring comments back to the group at the next meeting Gain consensus at next meeting for final list of “pearls” to be communicated to decision makers Set deadline for “pearls” to be communicated Registration start date: all changes made prior to registration opening
