1 Janel Jamerson (FGLN) and Ilka Walkley (RLG) Working together : the Campaign for Grade Level Reading and RBA

The Campaign for Grade Level Reading ( communities across the US – RLG working with 75 of these communities Local Campaigns within a national framework brokering technical assistance, communications, resources – not funding Set of shared progress indicators for school readiness (inc. health), attendance, summer learning loss and grade level reading proficiency 2

3 “ More children from low-income families ready for school and developmentally on track” “Fewer children from low-income families entering kindergarten with undetected, undiagnosed and untreated conditions and developmental delays that can impede learning” Community ownership of ‘problem’ – and solutions Need common language and shared measurement ‘fall in love with the problem’ (the story), not the solution

4 A community plan for collective impact to improve literacy The power of a common language RBA - a new way of working to address causes, not ‘business as usual’
