MTITC – REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA Railway Infrastructure Requirements  Full electrification of the line tracks  Freight lines of the core network: at least 22,5 t axle load, 100 km/h line speed and the possibility of running trains with a length of 740 m  Full deployment of ERTMS  Nominal track gauge for new railway lines: mm except in cases where the new line is an extension on a network the track gauge of which is different and detached from the main rail lines in the Union

MTITC – REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA Integrated Transport Strategy  A new strategic document until 2030  Ex Ante Conditionality included in the Partnership Agreement  A National Transport Model shall be a part of the Strategy  The document shall comprise all modes of transport  The Integrated Transport Strategy should be elaborated and approved by the end of 2016

MTITC – REPUBLIC OF BULGARIA Railway Infrastructure Charging Scheme  First adopted in 2001 (Decree No 302 of the Council of Ministers)  New Methodology for Calculating of the Track Access Charges Collected by the Infrastructure Manager adopted by Ministers’ Decree No 92 of 4 May 2012 (in force since 1 st January 2013)  Infringement Procedure against Bulgaria related to the railway infrastructure charging scheme  Decision of the Court of Justice  Bulgaria has amended the Methodology in order to perform the Decision’ provisions – Decree No 159 of 12 June 2014
