The Territorial Information System of Navarre (SITNA) is the organized set of resources that integrates, manages and disseminates the information that concerns the territory of Navarre in such a way that it is available, where, when and how the users need it.

Navarre was lacking a Spatial Data Infrastructure: There was no catalogue of spatial data with its relative metadata. There was no catalogue of spatial data with its relative metadata. IDENA is the answer of the Territorial Information System of Navarre to the requirements of INSPIRE (INfrastructure for SPatial InfoRmation in Europe) and IDEE (Infrastructure for Spatial Information in Spain) for promoting the harmonization, dissemination and use of spatial data.

Goals:  To provide the user with a set of procedures and tools on the web that allow localizing, identifying and retrieving the territorial information that is looked for, all this in a form that allows interoperability with other SDIs.  To standardize the treatment of metadata of the information available in SITNA.  To place SITNA inside the SDI space, contributing to the development of INSPIRE, IDEE and any other cooperation initiative that can be considered.

IDENA is defined by these parameters:  The principles of the INSPIRE proposal for a EU directive  The framework defined by IDEE (Spanish Spatial Data Infrastructure)  Its development as a SITNA component, in order to facilitate a standardized and interoperable access to the geographic information of Navarre

Navarre starts from an excellent situation for the establishment of IDENA:  There is a lot of good quality geographic information, with a long experience in its treatment.  This information is integrated in one central place: the SITNA datawarehouse.  A coordination system is established for the integration, management and dissemination of resources.  Benefits from state-of-the-art technology developed by the public company Trabajos Catastrales, S.A.  A cultural advantage is that geographic information is already considered as a basic infrastructure for the development of Navarre.
