A national network of volunteering will be established, enlarged and consolidated. This will enable cooperation of grassroot actors across and between different sectors. PROCESS TOWARDS A NATIONAL STRATEGY OF VOLUNTEERING Objective: © Citizen Forum 2010 to enable participation and grass root cooperation across different voluntary sectors, through which a national strategy of volunteering will be developed.

© Citizen Forum 2010 Process towards a national strategy of volunteering Key areas to be developed in Finland 1. Network building and information: Creating a network of volunteers and voluntary organization across different sectors; and actively providing information for the national network. 2. Event organisation: Organizing workshops and conferences for strategic discussions re. volunteering to ensure wide-spread grass root participation in the development of voluntary sector 3. Information: compiling research and educational information re. volunteering and disseminating it 4. Recruitment: Developing national volunteer recruitment services 5. Interfaces: Defining relationship and interfaces of different actors in voluntary sector; between volunteers and customers; between voluntary work and paid work etc. 6. Voluntary/public sector partnerships: Promoting cooperation across financial sectors as well as between subsectors 7. Good practices: Compiling good practices in volunteering and establishing a model for disseminating good practices 8. Advocacy: To gather, process and supply information about voluntary sector for advocacy and lobbying. 9. Development of volunteering infrastructure 10. Ensuring the quality of volunteering
