A Guide to Mrs. Clark’s Math Class

A Typical Class 15 minutes correcting homework and Clarifying previous day’s lesson 20 to 30 minutes direct instruction on new lesson (note taking and examples) 15 to 20 minutes practicing new skill (whiteboards, smart board, and paper / pencil work 15 minutes (hopefully) to begin homework

Homework Challenge math 5 Complex word problems given out on Monday due the following Monday Worth up to 3 extra credit points to be applied student’s lowest grades on a regular “homework” assignment Don’t leave all problems until Sunday night, do one a night Must show work…no “naked” answers Don’t have parent solve it for you if you get stuck Don’t spend more than10 min. per problem

“Regular” Homework 1 single sided “practice page” based on the day’s “new” lesson 1 double sided “homework / problem solving sheet based on the previous day’s lesson (for a recorded grade ACC Requirement Every students has a quarterly goal.
