A PPLICATIONS OF T ECHNOLOGY Learning How to Sketch

The sketch was one of the first forms of drawing. What is a sketch? The word sketch can be derived from the Greek word schedios meaning done extempore (on the spur of the moment, without preparation). Sketching is freehand drawing without the aid of drawing instruments. Sketches for an equestrian monument Leonardo Da Vinvci

Fast way to create new ideas What are the benefits of sketching? Helps to organize new designs Easy to record and file ideas for future reference Fast way to change plans Insures others will understand the concept you can visually show

Just as each individual has his or her own style of handwriting, he or she will also have their own style of sketching. Things to keep in mind There is not a best way to sketch. The most important thing is not so much a prescribed procedure for sketching but rather Being comfortable while you sketch Having a finished sketch be readable

If a sketch cannot be accurately read, it is useless. Bad Sketching vs Good Sketching

When designing a new idea, the first sketch is rarely used. Many sketches are usually drawn with each new sketch having an improvement in the sketch and the design. Developing Ideas Through Sketches 1 st Sketch2 nd SketchFinal Product

Be aware of the point on your pencil. Other things to keep in mind Always pull a pencil never. Never push a pencil. Rotate the pencil while drawing to wear the point evenly. Utilize proportions, basic shapes, and guidelines.

Practice your drawing skills by creating a sketch of one of your classmates in your sketchbook (5 mins). Today’s Assignment When you finish, try to create a second sketch at that improves on your first sketch.
