I’m Like You, You’re Like Me What can you do? Who can tie your shoes? Who can ride bike? Who can write your names?

I’m Like You, You’re Like Me families Who have a small family? Who have a large family? Who lives with your grandparents? Who has babies in the family?

I’m Like You, You’re Like Me Holidays What holidays do we celebrate? Do you know different countries have different holidays?

I’m Like You, You’re Like Me get to know each other Find out what food your neighbors like?

I’m Like You, You’re Like Me be nice each other Ask how they are feeling. Help each other (have you helped someone before?) Say “please” ---ask students to say it loudly Say “Thank you” –ask students to say it loudly Not making fun of each other or call each other names

Closing: Can we be different and the same at the same time? Can we be friends even though we might be somewhat different? Can we be kind each other even though we might be different? Is it better to work together to get things done? Is it more fun to learn how we are similar and different to each other?

Evaluation 1.Today, I learned the words “same” and “different.” 2.I learned at the beginning of class that other kindergarten students have many different things that they like best. 3.I learned that other kindergarten students can be both same as me and different from me. 4.The book we read today in class shows that we all can be good friends, learn from each other and work together.

Thank you!
