The Digital Disconnect Levin, Arafeh, 2002 Students use the Internet all the time to complete their school work. Teachers and schools have not acknowledged the new ways that students interact using the Internet. Students have difficulty using the Internet in school due to poor access, blocking software, and lack of assignments designed to use the Internet.
Peck, Cuban and Kirkpatrick, 2002 Unmet Dreams 1. Ensuring that all students are computer and technology literate. 2. Offering improved educational resources to increase student academic achievement. 3. Changing the nature of education. 4. Providing students with high tech skills to satisfy student, school, and business interests and needs.

Record what technology you see. Record what you might see as barriers to technology. Record what positive things you see teachers doing. Find out how the teacher you are observing feels about technology.
Reflect Look back at your observations. Think about what technology, barriers, and integration you observed. Think about how what you observed matched or didn’t match your past experiences as a developing teacher or a student.
