Never Fear… Fourth Graders Are Here…

Your Fourth Grade Teachers O All 8 of us are on the same page and have the same expectations! O When you are out of your room, you represent your class, your teacher, and fourth grade.

Fourth Grade Philosophy O R-E-S-P-E-C-T O Yourself O Others O Property

Be Independent! O Do not ask your teacher 5,000 questions! O Try your absolute best! O Be a risk-taker! If you make a mistake, then it’s the best way to learn!

Grades O You no longer have 1, 2, 3 or 3+ O You have A, B, C, D, F. O If you are not happy with a grade, then ask, “What can I do to make this better?” or “Did I do my BEST?”

Talking O There should not be excessive talking in class, in Specials, in the lunchroom, or in the hallway. O Remember, you represent your class and the fourth grade.

Work Quality O Always do your BEST! O If you don’t have time to do it right, you have time to do it again. O If a teacher asks you to redo an assignment, it’s because we know you can do better.

Organization O You have to keep up with your work. O There should never be loose papers in your desk or in your book bag. O Music, Art, and Spanish assignments should be kept in appropriate folders. O Your teacher will only make you ONE worksheet; no extras will be made.

Recess O Privilege and not a right. O If you have to lose recess, you will sit in a teacher’s room until you complete the assign or reflection sheet. O Sitting out is a consequence.

Self-Assessment O Do not ask the teacher, “Is this okay?” O Follow directions that are given. O If you think you have done your best, then be happy!

PROCEDURES Morning Arrival O If eating breakfast, go to cafeteria first! O Do not spend your whole morning visiting former teachers! You have morning work to complete! O Follow your teacher’s procedures for the morning!

PROCEDURES Hallway: O Two blocks off wall O Hands to you side O Face forward O Silence When by yourself: O Be quiet! (You are not the only person in the building.) O Go to your destination. O There is no need to talk in the hallway.

PROCEDURES Cafeteria: O Sit at your table O Face forward (Do not turn around and talk to other students) O Talk to people near you O Silence O Dismissal: Stand quietly and wait patiently

PROCEDURES Bathroom: O Not a playground O Use the restroom; do not look or go into another stall if a student is in there O Wash your hands O Notify teacher if there is a problem in the restroom

Where to look for help O Find a study buddy! O Look on the Internet and your class blog O Do not leave school if you are not certain of an assignment. Ask someone.

Questions??
