Public Information Systems An information service – something that gives people information A service for everyone - so it must meet the audience needs Could provide automatically updated information Something that helps people! What is a “Public Information System”?

Public Information Systems A “Public Information System”? Weather station – providing information about the weather Traffic information system – in a car, via Teletext or on the internet. Even something like an TV guide – on screen or on the internet. Town centre kiosk – an information point about the town Flood warning system? Touch-screen Cinema guide? Can you think of any more?
