GREEK GODS AND GODDESSES BY:KIA GOLDSTON

DIONSYSUS:god of parties and drinks. His mother semele was a mortal woman the first mortal to marry a god. His symbol was a cluster of grapes on his head.

HERA:goddess of marriage. She was the step-mother of the hero Heracles.and she hated him because he was half mortal.when he was still an infant she sent snakes to attack him in his crib.

ZEUS:god of all gods Zeus had many children by many goddesses.he also had 8 different affairs with they other than his wife hera.his weapons that he had was a thunderbolt.

ATHENA:goddess of wisdom. She was also the goddess of handicrafts and strategy.even though she didn’t like to fight,when she was forced to she always won.

APOLLO:god of light and music Apollo’s father was also Zeus,his mother was leto,and his children ascelpius and phaeton.he preached moderation in all things and owned an oracle in Delphi.

RHEA Her children are six recent gods.Zeus,hera,Hades,hestia,Demeter,Poseidon.her only true role was to be cronus’wife.when five of her kids were swallowed.she helped Zeus de-throne cronus.
