Detailed G4 simulation A detailed simulation of the bar has been written in G4,taking into account all optical processes, including absorption and reemission inside the BCF-92 fiber
Optical interfaces There are various optical interfaces to describe: TiO 2 coating-Sci, Sci-Glue; Glue- Clad, Clad-Core, Fiber end (mirrored). All of them included into the simulation optical photons
Optical interfaces (2) Core-Cladding Refraction Reflection
Optical interfaces (3) Lambert diffusion on scintillator-coating interface
Muons Muons simulated according to the angular distribution obtained in the cosmic ray telescope used to characterize the bars. Reasonable agreement with observed distribution of Npe MC ≈ 40% PDE DATA
MC: next steps Use the full simulation to obtain a time correction for xy position on tech run data Parametrize the optical response (as we already did for the LAV blocks) and put this detailed description in official MC Complete the digitization =19,6 cm/ns
Construction/test status (1) Long stop (from December till now…) in bar tests due to a serious fault in climatic chamber (now solved, restarting) Half of the bar tested. Expect 6 months time to complete tests on all bars. Npe R
Construction/test status 2 Design of the main vessel (CHANTI1-5) completed 3D mockup of the insertion region given to GTK group so that they can cope to our design when completing the mechanical design of the GTK Construction in progress (80% complete) in Napoli workshop w material (AISI 304L steel plates) bought by UCLouvain
Conclusions Detailed MC prepared, next step is comparison with tech run data Very big work from mechanical workshop and mechanical designer in Napoli to build the CHANTI-GTK3 vessel->almost ready Quality test on bars restarted after a long stop
