WELCOME TO THE xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx CHIROPRACTIC OFFICE

Our Promise To You  Our promise to you is very simple. If we can help you we will tell you. If we cannot, we will tell you that as well and make the appropriate referral.

Chiropractic and Pain Relief  It has been well documented through the years that chiropractic care is very effective in providing relief to those who suffer from back pain, neck pain and headaches.  Whether it be a formal research or a typical office setting the results speak for themselves, chiropractic works!!!

Where Does Back Pain Come From?  Typical back and neck pain originate from several different sources. – Spinal Joints- each vertebra has 2 joints. These joints have a lot of nerve endings which makes them very pain sensitive. When they become stuck and no longer move freely they become swollen and painful. This type of pain is usually localized, very sharp and worsens with movement. Joints

Back Pain Continued  Another common source of pain arises from the muscles that support the spine.  These muscles can become fatigued, stretched and can spasm causing brief, intense pain.

More On Pain  Another common source of back pain comes from the spinal nerves. There are 31 pair of spinal nerves that supply all of the body’s tissues. When these nerves are pinched or irritated they become inflamed and can be very painful. This also results in pain that radiates into the arms and legs. Spinal nerves

Pathology/Fracture  Obviously pain can arise form some sort of fracture or pathology in the vertebra or connecting soft tissue. If your doctor suspects this you will be referred immediately for further diagnostic studies. This is rare and usually ruled out by the doctor performing a thorough examination of your spine.

How Can I Reduce This Pain?  No one likes to be in pain. Our primary goal is to get you out of pain as quickly as possible. When you first begin treatment we will do everything we can to give you relief naturally. In severe cases however, we may be working with your primary care physician to obtain any necessary pain or anti-inflammatory medication.

Adjustments Help To Reduce Pain  Spinal adjustments restore proper motion and reduce mechanical stress on the spinal joints, nerves and muscles. This leads to a dramatic reduction in pain.

Pain Reduction/Home Treatment  In the initial phases of care we recommend the use of ice. Ice is effective at reducing pain, inflammation and spasm. – Use the ice for intervals of minutes. Wrap the ice or ice pack in a damp towel and apply to the involved area. DO NOT apply ice directly to the skin. Allow at least 30 minutes before re-applying the ice.

Moist Heat  48 hours after the onset of pain it is OK to begin using moist heat in the form of a hot shower, hot towels or moist heating pads. A hot bath in generally NOT recommended. Moist heat helps to relax tight muscles. DO NOT use a dry heating pad, it will make you worse.
