Body parts of a bottlenose dolphin

Bottlenose dolphin The most popular type of dolphin is a bottlenose dolphin these dolphins are found worldwide mostly in tropical and temperate waters . Food They eat squid, fish and crustacean . How long and weight Bottlenose dolphin adults reach 6–12 feet in length and weigh 400–800 pounds, Males are slightly larger than females .

Life cycle The baby dolphin has just been born. His mother and auntie push him very quickly to the surface because he has to breathe air straightaway. Dolphins are mammals like you and me. The live in the water like fish but they are warm-blooded and they give their little ones milk. He is still very fragile and therefore has to drink a lot of milk so that he can grow very, very quickly. The baby dolphin stays near his mother and within the family for a long time, at least ten to fifteen years. There is so much to learn before becoming an adult! For it is not so easy to live in the middle of the ocean : you need to know how to hunt fish, how to speak to other dolphins, how to fight sharks and how not to get lost in the ocean during heavy storms

Species of dolphins . Some say there are 32 different species , while some say that there actually 33. It all depends on whether you think the White Whale counts as a dolphin or not here are 10 species . Pink dolphin . Bottlenose dolphin . the Hector's dolphin, . Commerson's dolphin . Black dolphin . the Haeviside's dolphin . the Dusky dolphin . the Atlantic White-Sided dolphin . the Hourglass dolphin . the Spinner dolphin
